Approaching at a sharp angle can increase the time spent in the TSS and create greater difficulty in orienting to the flow of traffic, which can lead to dangerous situations. Entering straight from shore may not consider the prevailing traffic patterns and can disrupt the orderly flow of vessels within the scheme. Simply proceeding in any direction that seems safe disregards the structured nature of the TSS and the regulations governing maritime traffic, increasing the likelihood of collisions.
